MnAEYC-MnSACA Pop-Up Conversations

We know how challenging these times are for early childhood and afterschool providers. We also know that connecting with colleagues can help. You don’t need to go through this alone.

We are introducing a new series of Pop-Up Conversations in order to support you and your programs during the COVID-19 crisis. Join one or all of these free virtual conversations to find camaraderie, share your stories, and build community. Some topics will be specific to early childhood, others specific to school-age, and some appropriate for everyone. All are welcome, but space is limited – RSVP early!

Keep checking back as dates and topics will be added.

Preparing for Afterschool Summer Programming

We’re all playing the waiting game. Things are changing so quickly during this pandemic, it is hard to know what programming will look like next week, let alone next month. So how do we plan for summer with so much up in the air? Even if programming resumes, everyone will be adjusting to a new normal. How can we maintain social distancing with youth? What additional health and safety precautions should we be preparing for? Discuss these things and more – bring your ideas to share.

Equity and COVID-19: Challenges Our Children Face
Facilitated by Hannah Riddle de Rojas

Before the COVID-19 crisis our early childhood education and school-age care systems faced challenges caused by inequity. Now, as we find ourselves in a pandemic, the impact of inequity is felt even more. That said, now is the time to advocate and re-write the history that has created these inequities. In this pop-up conversation, we will discuss the needs we're seeing in our fields, connect with each other and review opportunities we have to raise our voices for change. Be ready to share your observations, struggles and ideas to better our fields.
