Papertoys

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Teachers help students to acquire knowledge and skills. Teaching discrete skills, such as the attributes of polygons and geometric solids, fractional measurements, creative writing, and elements of fiction, can be ends in and of themselves, or they can be combined in a purposeful way. To a child, what could be more purposeful than to combine all of those disciplines into making toys that they can play with? This unit of study is designed to do just that.

Support STEM, STEAM, creativity and critical thinking through the use of loose parts. Resources, tips, and the role of the adult in supporting loose parts play will be discussed.
