This is an important election year. On November 6, we’ll elect a governor, state attorney general, auditor, secretary of state, two U.S. Senators, eight U.S. Congresspeople, and all 134 members of the state House of Representatives, as well as number of local races depending on where you live.

Not sure if you’ll have time to vote on Tuesday, November 6? You’re in luck. Early voting begins today and goes until November 5. Learn more here.

You can also register, check out who is on your ballot, and find your polling place here.

Also, did you know next Tuesday, September 25 is National Voter Registration Day? Do you have a staff meeting, training, board meeting, etc. that day or sometime in the near future? Add voter registration to the agenda! You can bring information about voting and voter registration applications. It’s a great way to encourage voting among your network. You can find applications here and voter outreach materials here.

What We Did Over Summer Vacation

Join us for the first Ann Kaner-Roth Policy Hour of the season! Guests from the field will provide updates about “What We Did Over Summer Vacation.”

Kelly Monson, Executive Director of the Minnesota Children’s Cabinet, will share about the Systems Reform Project, support from BUILD, and the plans for transition to a new Governor and administration. Consultant Laura LaCroix-Dalluhn will bring us up to speed on the work of a new Prenatal to Three Policy Initiative group. We hope to have time for a few more brief updates—bring your ECE summer story if you have one.

Ann Kaner-Roth Policy Hour is a monthly opportunity for early childhood and afterschool professionals to connect with each other and learn about current policy issues in an informal setting.

Bring your lunch. Invite your friends. No RSVP necessary.

Attend in person or stream it right from the Minnesota's Future Facebook page,

Mark your calendars! Ann Kaner-Roth Policy Hour is held the first Tuesday of each month, October 2018-June 2019, from Noon-1:00 p.m. at Think Small (2021 East Hennepin Avenue | Suite LL20, Minneapolis, MN 55413).

These events are provided to the field at no cost by the Minnesota’s Future Coalition.

Candidate Conversation Cancelled

We’ve heard from candidates for Governor, Commissioner Johnson’s and Congressman Walz’s campaigns that they are both unable to participate in our forum. They have decided on limited debate participation overall. Therefore, we need to cancel the candidate conversation scheduled for Thursday, September 27 at the Children’s Museum.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We encourage everyone to remain engaged this election season!
