Take Action for Power to the Profession

Power to the Profession is a national collaboration to arrive at a shared agreement on the knowledge and competencies, qualifications, standards, career pathways, and compensation for early childhood educators working across all early learning setting serving children ages birth through eight. You can read more about the initiative here.

Power to the Profession is looking for reaction and feedback on a draft set of recommendations related to qualifications, specializations, and career pathways for the future early childhood education profession. It is the hope that these recommendations will change the complex early childhood field as it exists today into a coherent profession in the future.

You can read the document here.

Your thoughts on these recommendations are extremely important. We hope you will take time to read, reflect, and discuss the draft with your colleagues. Once you have had time to think about the proposed recommendations and how they might impact your work, you are invited to complete this survey to share your thoughts. Be sure to get your recommendations in by the end of April.

Although anyone is able to participate in this initiative, doing it as part of a larger member collaboration will have a bigger impact and further reach. One of the ways you can continue your involvement in these conversations is by joining MnAEYC or MnSACA in order to receive ongoing, member-exclusive announcements, communications, and ways to take action.

Thank you for sharing your time, expertise and thoughtful feedback.
