What is Super School-Age Saturday?
This is an interactive and engaging professional development event designed specifically for staff working in school-age care/afterschool and summer programs to deepen their knowledge and skills in providing high-quality youth development opportunities. Participants appreciate sessions with practical tips & applications that can be implemented right away and those that are interactive.

Sessions will be 90 minutes in length. Presenters will receive an honorarium per session.

What is this year’s theme?
This event, “(Re)Imagine the Power of Youth,” will focus on how you can encourage youth voice and build young leaders. We want participants to come away with the practical tools and information needed to do this work effectively in their programs. We are looking for presentations that focus on youth voice, youth leadership, and youth community involvement.

Join Afterschool Programs Demonstrating Quality through Accreditation

The Minnesota Afterschool Accreditation Program (MAAP) is a state-approved accreditation, developed by MnSACA to promote the highest level of quality programming for school-age and afterschool care. • Provides a context for ongoing professional development
  • Measurably strengthens afterschool programs and services
  • Serves as a foundation for positive youth outcomes
  • Fosters a better trained workforce, thereby minimizing staff turnover
  • Conveys a commitment to quality and informs families’ decisions about afterschool care
  • Programs serving children who qualify for child care assistance may be eligible for a higher reimbursement rate.

"I feel it was a great process to go through and really assess where your program is at and where it can grow."
~Emily Burke, Robbinsdale Adventure Club - Meadow Lake

World Photo Day encourages individuals to use the power of photography to inspire a positive impact in their communities. MnAEYC-MnSACA invites you to participate this Saturday, August 19.

In order to inspire our own community of early childhood and afterschool professionals, we invite you to share a photo that represents your own self-care. We all know it is of the utmost importance for us to take care of US before we are able to genuinely serve the children, family, and communities in our care. Whether you relax and rejuvenate by watching a sunset, playing with your own children, or attending a concert, share your photos on Facebook and Twitter using #worldphotoday and tag us @MnAEYCMnSACA! Your photos will motivate other professionals to find their own strategies for self-care.
