Session 1 - How Did I Get Here? A Look at Leadership

Date: Wednesday, February 19

Time: 12:00-2:30 p.m.

Leadership is a journey. Most of us did not begin our career on the path to become a “leader.” In this session we will examine what we possess (or can develop) for more effective leadership skills.

Session 2 - Help! Working With and Retaining Staff

Date: Wednesday, March 4

Time: 12:00-2:30 p.m.

It's no secret that high-quality experiences for children depend on having quality, effective staff. In this session we will identify some gaps for the under-qualified staff, and discuss how to take a strength-based approach with them. Help all staff to stay motivated while dealing with others.Tips and techniques for building staff capacity will be shared.

Session 3 - Professional Development and Coaching: Looking Beyond the Workshop

Date: Wednesday, April 15
Time: 12:00-2:30 p.m.

Professional development is one of the elements identified as essential for retaining and “growing” quality staff. In this session informal and formal training opportunities will be evaluated. This session will also examine the role of coaching, introduce the principles of strength-based coaching, and participants will begin to create a coaching plan.

Session 4 - Strengthening and Building Teams

Date: Wednesday, May 6
Time: 12:00-2:30 p.m.

When you hear the term “team-building,” what is your initial reaction? This session will define elements of strong teams, assist you in examining your site culture, and discuss how you can create a culture of working together (including part-time or seasonal staff).
