Promote Youth Development through Quality

Are you looking for a framework for quality improvement efforts to strengthen your program? Would you like to increase positive youth outcomes, foster a better-trained workforce and minimize staff turnover? Would you like to convey a commitment to quality, which will inform families’ decisions about which afterschool program they choose?

If you said yes to any of these questions, then the Minnesota Afterschool Accreditation Program (MAAP) is the right choice for your program! The MAAP process will guide you in your quest for quality programming for Minnesota’s youth. Whether you are a school-age or afterschool program or an early childhood program with a school-age room, this framework for quality is for you!

MAAP was developed by the Minnesothow a School-Age Care Alliance (MnSACA), and is a state-approved accreditation, recognized as the ultimate indicator of quality in afterschool programs. It provides afterschool professionals with performance indicators to guide in program planning, implementation, and evaluation. More than 40 programs are already MAAP accredited, and many more are in the process.

MnSACA is now accepting Intake Forms for the 2017-2018 school year. We would love to work with your program and staff to guide and support you through the MAAP accreditation process. You may be eligible to receive subsidies through a MnAEYC-MnSACA Accreditation Facilitation Project (AFP) funded by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Learn about the history, process, criteria, and more using the MAAP Informational Guide, and contact maap@mnaeyc-mnsaca.org with any questions you have. We also invite you to visit our website to find out other ways to begin making quality improvements at your afterschool program, even if you aren’t quite ready to pursue accreditation.

We look forward to welcoming you into a future cohort!
