Position Title: MnSACA & MnAEYC Executive Director

Accountable To: MnSACA & MnAEYC Board of Directors

Primary Objectives of Position:
To execute the mission and business of the membership and professional organizations throughout the state of Minnesota as the Executive Director of the Minnesota School Age Care Alliance and the Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Financial Management and Resource Development:
- Responsible for the overall financial health of the organization including but not limited to budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Developing a fund development plan which includes foundational grant support, government contracts, membership revenue and growth, and other earned income opportunities.
Staff Supervision:
- Creates, monitors, supervises, and evaluates a diverse team-oriented work group that creatively implements the vision, mission, and strategies of both organizations.
Strategic Planning and Organizational Development:
- Structures organizational activities to flow from strategic decisions for both organizations.
- Provides leadership in developing programs, and creates and supports innovations and partnerships that improve program quality, expand program impacts and encourages growth and sustainability for both organizations.
Affiliate Responsibilities:
- Ensure that both organizations are meeting goals and expectations of their national affiliates (NAEYC and NAA).
External Relations and Capacity Development:
- Promotes, explores and builds relationships within the broader fields of childcare, education and youth development.
- Provides innovative leadership in collaborative product and program development amongst a wide variety of partnering groups.
- Provides leadership and guidance for the Umbrella Strategic Alliance.
- Works with the Department of Human Services and their Professional Development goals.
- Ability to travel in order to build relationships and increase the impact of both organizations.
Board Development:
- Serves as the direct, primary liaison with the Board of Directors, and facilitates the Board’s involvement in fundraising, policy setting, strategic planning, and financial management for both organizations.
- Works closely with the Presidents from both Boards to ensure meeting individualized organizational goals.
- Works with the Joint Steering Committee on developing ways we can streamline processes and procedures.
- Ensures written documentation of key elements of operations for both boards. This includes but is not limited to computer passwords, voicemail directions, and other key day to day operations.
- Will provide 30 days notice if resign from position.
Compensation and Benefits

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
B.A. in Human Services Related Field a minimum and leadership experience in early care and education or out-of-school time or non-profit sector.

Position Title: Out of School Time Program Manager
Location: Community Education
Hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months
Salary: $59,000 - $69,000
Required Experience: BA Degree + 3-5 years of Management/Program Development experience.
Experience in school age childcare preferred.
Major Responsibilities: Provide leadership in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive program of out of school time services that include, Preschool (Early Learners’ Academy and enrichment), School age childcare (Kids’ SAFARI), Summer Programs (Summer Spectrum), Targeted Services School Year (K-5 Programming) and supervising Musical Avenues Program.
Design alternative programs in collaboration with Principals, District 287, Department of Education, Teachers, Curriculum and Instruction, Finance and Evaluation.
Develop and manage after-school programs, prepare and administer the budgets for all elementary out-of-school time programs and services. Develop policies, procedures, goals and objectives for out-of-school time programs and services. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with business, school community and human service agencies.

Extended Day Program Leader
Primary Objective of the Position: Plan and implement a daily program designed to meet the developmental and physical needs of a diverse group of elementary aged children. Provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive, safe and appropriate environment, being sensitive to the needs of individual children, relating in a positive manner to both children and adults and effectively supervise assigned staff.
Accountable to: Coordinator of Extended Day
HOURS: 35 hours per week, (split shift) 12 months
Rate of pay: $14.30 per hour plus benefit package
Sites: Lincoln Elementary, Oneka Elementary and Willow Elementary
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Education, School-Age Care, Child Development, Recreation, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of two years experience working directly with children
- Previous supervisory experience
- Current First Aid training
- Ability to work independently
- Relevant training and knowledge in such areas as: Child Development, Child Guidance, Human Relations, Recreational Programming, Management and Supervision.
- A strong commitment to working with children as well as working in a team atmosphere is a must.
Duties:
- Plan and implement curriculum areas on site that meet the needs of a variety of activities and age levels of children.
- Establish a routine that encourages a child’s independence in individual, small and large group settings.
- Establish a warm, caring environment through the use of age appropriate direct and indirect positive guidance techniques.
- Maintain a positive atmosphere, a safe environment, and establish positive and friendly relationships, working cooperatively with parents, children, assigned staff and school personnel.
- Work cooperatively as the team leader assigning and supervising the activities of the team. Model appropriate professional behavior, behavior guidance, participation in activities, language, and dress on the job.
- Maintain accurate student and staff records, to include but not be limited to appropriate documentation related to attendance, behavior, accidents and job performance.
- Attend regular staff meetings, participate in district sponsored training when available and pursue additional training opportunities from associated organizations, and maintain current first aid and CPR certificates.
- Ensure compliance with all program procedures and district policies.
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned.
